Tim’s Gin Toddy

Gin ToddyWhen Tim Monaghan invited us to Hotel Delmano on a recent episode of HiB to learn about festive cocktails for the holidays, I knew he would have something awesome up his sleeve.  Tim’s Gin Toddy is a festive twist on the hot toddy.  Hot Toddies are generally made with bourbon, but Tim decided to use gin instead.  He pairs locally-produced Breuckelen Gin with the flavors of rosemary and red pepper flakes for an earthy kick and red-and-green-confetti festive appearance.  This new twist on an old classic is sure to warm your heart and soul!

Tim’s Gin Toddy

  • 1/2 sprig rosemary
  • 1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice
  • 3/4 ounce honey syrup
  • 1 1/2 oz gin
  • 4-5 oz hot water

Muddle the rosemary and red pepper flakes in the bottle of your mug to release the essential oils.  Add the lemon juice, honey syrup, and gin to the mug and top with hot water.  Stir, and garnish with a lemon wedge.  Perfect for a cozy New Years at home with your sweetie…especially with this weather!
