Ceviche is something I always order when I’m out but I have never bothered to make it because it seemed so fancy I figured it was difficult. Well guess what? It’s not. One trip to Yerba Buena made me realize that ceviche is one of the most elegant & easy dishes you can possibly make. Check out the video below and follow along with the recipe!
SPICY MACKEREL CEVICHE:
- 1 one-pound mackerel, filleted and chopped into bite size pieces (or any white fish of your preference – should be about 3/4 lbs fish once bones are removed and it’s diced)
- 1 lime – juiced
- 1 orange – juiced
- 1 meyer lemon – juiced
- 1 1/2 tsp sriracha sauce
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 serrano pepper – seeded and thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp chopped cilantro
- 1/4 small red onion – thinly sliced
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl, let stand for 5 minutes and top with crumbled plantain chips for extra crunch!
